2009 has a weak free agents class, Best guys out there Lackey and Vlad Guerrero, who will have options picked up by Anaheim. CC is going to sign with Anaheim and has already said he wouldn’t consider the yankees. Rumors have it that the Yankees will tap into the Japanese marked while younger players develope for 2010. The top Yankee prospects are pitchers and that is what really made the team of the 90′s and role players. DO NOT RESIGN ABREU.
Start Gardner – advantage Melky is a role player only, garnder will steal 50 bases a year whether or not he has a good batting average.
Yankees need to go back to bunting, stealing, good D, and clutch pitching. I hope the Stein’s have the patience for that to develop.
Since roids have been eliminated from BB, signing anybody beyound the age 36 is unproductive. Yes there are few exceptions to the rule (Mussina); since I’m an odds player one out of thousands of players that age is not a good bet.
